Highlights from 2014

Every year is a banner year for us! Here are just a few major projects and jobs we have undertaken this year as well as a few more personal items.


Ottawa vanaquaotter
We had our AGM in sunny Ottawa. Banners for Vancouver Aquarium’s Up Close exhibit went up
We helped North Shore Search & Rescue honour the late Tim Jones.



The 2014 Winter Olympics took place in Sochi. We sold a lot of flags! (But not as many as 2010)



TED Talks came to town. Science World celebrated 25 years as a Vancouver institution.


Richmond banners went up featuring art from its annual contest winners.



Banners for Cirque du Soleil’s Totem went up around town.



Curtis Wilson’s Canadian Native Flag debuted for Aboriginal Day. The 2014 World Cup was played in Brazil.



The Kitsilano West 4th BIA pulled together a “Meet the Merchants” campaign with 70 portraits of local business employees and owners. A flag made for First Nations artist Beau Dick crossed the country to Ottawa for a copper cutting ceremony designed to shame the federal government.



The Vancouver Aquarium announced the opening of its expansion. Rainbow Refugee Pride documentary filmed a scene in our store.



BCIT celebrated its 50th anniversary. We supported the teachers during their strike.

Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation made a lot of people aware. Our business development manager, Julia, got married.



Vancouver Opera banners went onto the Burrard Street Bridge. To commemorate 100 years since the start of World War I, we began offering the Canadian Red Ensign from that era.

The My Credit Union Matters campaign helped credit unions get the word out that they were in danger of losing a valuable tax credit. We began offering products exclusively for Co-Op Canada.




We got a new digital printer! The first of our Antibullying flag products arrived.


Coming up in 2015:

We turn 40!

The Canadian Flag turns 50 years old.

Our new Anti-bullying flag will debut for Pink Shirt Day (February 25th).
