The West End BIA’s new branding

The West End BIA has recently rebranded itself with a modern look and bold new colours. Their new street banners went up recently. Blue on Denman Street, green on Robson Street, and purple for Davie Street with the Davie Village shopping area getting its own rainbow tails.

In addition, we made magnets, cling decals for the businesses to put up, pens, and yo-yos for them to give out at festivals.

Throwback Friday – Battlestar Galactica edition

Battlestar Galactica

We’ve had this photo in our gallery for a long time, sitting there without much context. It’s from a job we did almost a decade ago for the Battlestar Galactica miniseries/pilot.

You can watch the scene it was in here. And here‘s an old industry article written about us and our involvement with it.

You can see more flags and banners we made for film and television in our gallery.

Edmonton Pride on Alberta military base

Concurrent with Edmonton’s pride festival, the Canadian Forces Base located there was the first military base in Canada to raise a pride flag to honour its GLBT troops and the GLBT community at large. The pride flag they raised came from our own Edmonton Flag Shop.

Powell Street construction

Beginning June 24th, Powell Street from Clark to Hawks will be closed off except for local traffic as they begin work on the new Powell Street Overpass. The construction project will take a year to complete.

Our office on 1615 Powell Street is not in the construction zone, but anyone trying to get here may need to adjust their route. If you are coming to us from the west, you can take Hastings and turn left onto Clark before turning right onto Powell. Coming to our office from the east shouldn’t require any route adjustments but traffic may be slower.

For current bus routes, please see Translink’s Service Changes page for the up to date information. The #4 and #7 buses normally stop near our store. Right now, we do not have information about any route changes they may have.

We will post more information to our Vancouver site as needed.
